Krasnodar vs Chelsea: Match preview

Event details:
NAME: FC Krasnodar – Chelsea
DATE: 28 Oct 2020
TIME: 17:55 UTC
VENUE: Krasnodar Stadium, Krasnodar, Russia

Chelsea hosted Sevilla eight nights ago in a battle of the last two UEFA Europa League winners.

The game at Stamford Bridge was uneventful and finished goalless.

Frank Lampard had not overseen a 0-0 draw as Chelsea Manager but then, on Saturday, the Blues were involved in another, this time away to Manchester United in the Premier League.

This means they’ve taken nine points from six league games so far, only winning once since the opening day.

Krasnodar meanwhile made their debut in the Champions League group stages, meeting another debutant Stade Rennais at Roazhon Park.

The hosts took the lead through a penalty in the 56th minute but, just three minutes later, a Cristian Ramírez rocket saw the Black-Greens leave Brittany with a point.

Krasnodar have previously appeared in five Europa League group stages with their best runs in 2017 and 2019 when they got to the round of 16.

Murad Musayev’s side though suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Spartak Moscow on Saturday.

This means they’ve won just five of their 12 Russian Premier League matches so far this campaign.
