Tottenham Hotspur turn their attention to the EFL Cup as they host Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night.
Jose Mourinho’s side were handed a bye into the fourth round after their clash against Leyton Orient was cancelled.
It was confirmed several of Orient’s players tested positive for Covid-19, so the Sky Bet League Two side had to forfeit the tie, in line with competition rules.
Mourinho, who will be looking to get one over his former employers, is expected to ring the changes, following his teams 1-1 draw against Newcastle in the league, and may include Dele Alli for the matchup.
Gareth Bale could also make his first start for Spurs after re-signing for the club on a season-long loan from Real Madrid, following seven years away in the Spanish capital.
Harry Kane will be absent having picked up a red card after the final whistle at St James’ Park.
Chelsea go into the last-16 of the competition having defeated Barnsley 6-0 at Stamford Bridge in the last round, with Kai Havertz netting a hat-trick, his first-ever as a professional.
Lampard could make several adjustments to the team that drew 3-3 with the Baggies in the league last weekend. He could give a debut to new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who recently joined the club from Rennes.
Antonio Rudiger is expected to be left out as he seeks a move away from the club before the transfer window closes.
The last time both teams faced each other in the EFL Cup was in January 2019, with Chelsea running out 2-1 winners at Stamford Bridge.
